There was an interesting bit on the Beeb feed about how the National Trust is doing maintenance on The Giant, having to refresh the chalk earlier than previous due to the increased wetness over the last decade or so.
For those unfamiliar, The Giant is a huge figure outlined in chalk on a hillside in Dorset, best dating analysis puts it as first created in the Saxon period somewhere between 500 and 1000AD. The drawing is of a naked male figure wielding a club. One of its most remarked features, of course, makes the work famous the world over.
So, one has to wonder how Apple Maps handled it; did the Americans leave it alone or did they pixelate the satellite imagery? My bet, given how prudish and immature the Yanks are about such things, they would pixelate the "naughty bits".
So, is it A) Leave it as an adult would, or B) Pixelate because such imagery causes social anxiety and sin.
Wellllllllll, neither it turns out. It's C) Other.
GRIN!
