I enjoyed the ingenuity, shuddered at some of the practices, and was frankly appalled at some of the comments talking about how "shoddy" or "no torque wrenches" and all that frankly anti-third-world condescension. I bet those guys knew exactly what range they got those heads torqued to; did you watch them carefully?
That engine design was beautifully simple, easily refreshed in a primitive environment by these folks. BTW a Chinese manufacturer of marine plants who understood how an engine could be refreshed in situ and at sea let alone on a concrete pad in Vietnam, something the idiots commenting have no notion that such would be a good design.
God these self-righteous people get up my nose.
I must admit I could have done without the poster's click-bait superlatives and bull$hit like "abandoned for decades". Obviously a pretty normal refresh of a common engine in that culture and environment with lots to admire. I love the thumb-loops for opening rings, btw; genius.
