Hmmm...fléchette is a word I've not heard/read for fifty years. I seem to recall those being considered for use against opposing aircraft in the early days of WWI before the invention of the synchronized machine-gun. Just fly above your enemy and dump a box-load of them over the side in his direction. Ghastly results, I suspect.
