I don't think that there's any real evidence of the disaster left now, but it's true that the people there still talk about it. I heard them talking about a huge ship explosion that killed nearly 2,000 people, but didn't know what they were talking about. My French wasn't that good then, but good enough to get the gist of the discussions even as the details remained unknown. Now I know the story. Thanks!
