..that we tie our Middle East policies to EITHER arabs or Jews. All of them are bad news; Islam is a radical, dangerous religion and Zionism, a kind of weird offshoot of Judaism, is just as bad.

Attempting influence for the good, attempting negotiations, those seem like sensible courses. Of course Trump won't follow the sensible course.
