..and I've read over and over that the Animals' 'We Gotta Get Out of This Place' was the soldiers' unofficial anthem. They knew the war was BS.

In WWII radio propaganda was big, too. Broadcasters like 'Axis Sally' and 'Lord Haw-Haw' pushed the Nazi line.
