I think the shooter was a student there. Mental illness is a real problem in this country, and not just among the poor or disadvantaged. The culture here has tended to espouse rugged individualism and self sufficiency. Teachers are not even allowed to talk about certain subjects or current events in schools. Hard to solve problems that way.
