Some cattle ranchers out west who grazed their cattle on federal land but didn’t want to pay the fees to the BLM for doing that. I think some who were from Nevada went to Oregon to support some kind of revolt up there, and one guy was shot and killed when he reached for his gun?? That “Yellowstone” series reminded me of that, too. These big ranchers would take in orphans and wayward young boys to work on their ranches.
