I hope something changes to the good soon for her!

My SiL works in the government as a psychologist at the VA. He is considered essential, so has to work but hasn't been paid. trump is threatening to not pay those who are furloughed AND those who are "essential" so are working. It is outrageous! No money coming in from him severely cuts their budget in half to only what J is bringing in.

Thankfully, she no longer works under a government grant for implementing mental health OT programs here in NH. Her program is the first and only one but is now under Manchester hospital rather than the government.

Their mortgage and other bills still come in monthly demanding payment regardless of what is happening with B and his VA position. He could earn much more in private practice, but chose the VA because he cares deeply about our military members' mental health. Especially given the numbers of suicides growing yearly. This shutdown sure isn't helping anyone! But the DEMs must hold their ground because taking away health insurance from millions of Americans by cutting the ACA funding will be disastrous!

I sure hope the government opens again soon! I also hope that Em's job comes back with the science programs restored!
