The New York Times is out with some details on the incident that resulted in former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz’s decision to resign from Congress, and they are as disgusting as you thought they would be. You may remember that Donald Trump had tapped Gaetz to be his Attorney General in late 2024, just after Trump won the election, before the inevitable blowback caused Trump to rethink his selection and ultimately choose Pam Bondi.

As detailed by the Times, the 17-year-old girl was living part-time in a homeless shelter and working at a fast-food restaurant when she signed up for a “Sugar Daddy” dating website, partly so she could afford enough money for braces to fix her teeth. There she encountered Matt Gaetz’s buddy, Joel Greenberg, a local Florida tax collector at the time, who is now serving a 10-year prison term for sex trafficking. Greenberg ultimately brought her to a party being held at the home of a Florida Republican State legislator, Chris Dorworth, where Matt Gaetz was also present. At the party she was plied with alcohol and ecstasy, and ultimately had sex with Gaetz on a pool table, for which she earned $400. Gaetz was 35 years-old at the time.
