This winter, they should book a hotel/motel up in the Whites and rent snowmobiles to travel the trails. They'll need proper clothing and maps of the trails, but it is breathtaking there.

Come summer, a trip to the Cape (Cod) is a must. Take a few days to explore it all the way to the top for Provincetown where they hold daily gay pride parades through the streets and thousands of pop up craft and food/drink tents appear as if by magic.
