How fast this has happened..indeed. I thought another Trump term would be bad, but that many predictions were exaggerated. However , the brutality and blatant attempts to begin a Fascist takeover have indeed been shocking.

It doesn’t make me more sympathetic to the Germans of the Nazi era; but I do understand it a bit better. How’d it happen so fast? Why did so many go along? Why didn’t they think he was a buffoon?
