They aren't interested in much or anything beyond their immediate lives and troubles. They also tend to broadbrush things, and especially politics and politicians. They believe all are the same. Consequently, people like Warren appear worse than they are, and people like felon trump are better.
Side by side they are vastly different. But many people don't compare them side by side. If they're a little interested, they let their favorite news inform them. Like Fox, and Tucker Carlson's replacement.

Fox lost a huge lawsuit due to perpetration and proliferation of lies. They appealed and apparently didn't learn a thing. While the appeal is pending, it's business... uh er... lies as usual.
