Everything went well. The hauptwerk pipe organ made the chapel vibrate and shake, and you bet your sweet bippy people noticed. Unexpected, and the shock, smiles and joy on face said it well.
People enjoyed the singing, and the concerto was moving. I opened with the first part of the first movement and then cut to the big cadenza before the finale in the third.
I spoke briefly about the Tchaikowsky, when I played that piece in Moscow in 1973, a clerk at the Rossya and I argued over our country's comparative freedoms. He asked me to step out into Red Square, where he shouted loudly in English
"He is Risen!" From all across Red Square came
"On voistinu voskes!" He is risen indeed!
