I cannot imagine how terrible it must be to be so afraid that trump will demand that they ignore ethical, physical, and legal concerns about war crimes if they stay in the military.

America OWES it to them to ensure that their service a/o sacrifices are not wasted by an out of control administration that cares nothing about them. We also owe them the finest medical and psychological care after the fact should they require it.
