He is quite adept at shutting up gay-bashing whether opaque or outright. He is also quite skilled at turning attacks back onto the attacker without missing a beat, then smoothly returning to his points and discussion about any given topic.

Pete is quite relatable and he charms and disarms all but those who cannot see him for who and what he is simply because of "who he loves".

I think he is a brilliant strategist, open to advice, disagreement, and challenges to his positions. He stands firm, but listening, and will readily change positions if convinced by challenges to it. Unlike most, I think he considers all known information before adopting a position employing minimal emotion to cloud his thinking and then allows new information to adjust that POV moving forward,

His passion for his ideals and plans seems to stem from a solid knowledge of any given topic to where relatively ignorant challenges are swiftly defeated confidently. He never seems to get flustered because he does not make off the cuff, quick judgments on issues.

I very much like and approve of him. I wish that his sexual preferences were not a disadvantage for him. I hope that someday they won't be.
