So Kansas has had a Democrat governor for the last 8 years (two terms) after the previous Republican governor got them into a financial mess. As the governor can only serve two terms, we are beginning to see the political ads on TV, the most prominent so far of a guy who calls himself not a career politician but a "business man, just like President Trump" and he goes on to say it is "winning time"... and he will "cut taxes"... etc.
Kansas is mostly farm fields, oil fields, and windmill fields... and isn't densely populated. When we have driven through there, we've seen the anti-abortion signs and pro Trump signs. I doubt you would find a Democrat anywhere in western Kansas. And yet, they did elect a Democrat governor the last two terms. Because...? Maybe the Republican predecessor wasn't really "winning" for them?
