Our daughter's house (which isn't that old and is reportedly worth over 2 mil) doesn't even have air conditioning as it isn't supposed to get that hot at their elevation. While it is supposed to be in the 50s at night, there are usually a couple of weeks during the summer where it really gets too hot to be comfortable. They have to open and close their windows at strategic times. I think they wish they had AC!
