The Department of Justice is now launching an investigation into MLB following the Giants’ Pride Night controversy.
The controversy came after the MLB warned three Giants players, Landen Roupp, JT Brubaker, and Ryan Walker, about writing bible verses on their Pride Night caps.

In a letter to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon says the DOJ is referring the league to the equal employment opportunity commission.
The letter reads:
"The Civil Rights Act prohibits MLB and its franchises from unreasonably burdening the rights of players with religious objections to serving as the league's vehicle for pro-pride messages. Federal law is clear: employers must modify their uniform requirements to reasonably accommodate their employees' exercise of religion."
“I hate that it’s dividing us, this time of year I hope that we’re unifying people,” said the director of San Francisco Pride Suzanne Ford.
Ford says the moment was painful for many LGBTQ Giants fans, especially in a city with deep ties to LGBTQ.
Do you have a right NOT to be gay, or to sport their colors? Do they have a 'right' not to be offended?
Rethinking my support of anything San Francisco at this point.
