I knew much of it happened, but not that it continued into modern history like it has.

Ten+ years ago, I saw that old movie "Billy Jack" and its sequel on TV. I thought it was exaggerating the powerlessness of Native tribes to police their lands to make a compelling movie. Apparently, it wasn't.

There's NO excuse for this crap to still be happening today. We should be well beyond treating Natives so terribly! Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians have apparently won their rights while Natives continue to lose ground.

That's ridiculous! Why can't valid treaties made long ago be honored now? We owe them a lot in reparations!
