On a trip to South America, French painter Paul Gaugin was sought by the ship captain to "restore" a wedding cake designated for a wedding in Buenos Aires. During the voyage the cake rotted. Gaugin used oil paints to restore the cake to a lovely work of art, that understandably sickened everyone associated with the wedding, who consumed any piece of it.
