But yeah, this was Hurricane Polo, and it went right over us!
I wanted badly to be there. Experience it first hand. Knew I'd likely never again get the chance.
I knew I'd be OK. No lightning. Visibility and wind the only trouble, and if the snow was too heavy and bad, I could bail out before I reached the trailhead.
Hurricane Lester which passed over us in 1992 dumped up to seven feet of snow in the Sawatch and Mosquitos.
