Disgraced Colorado election clerk Tina Peters met with President Donald Trump earlier this week and reportedly urged him to seize ballots after the upcoming midterms in an attempt to put elections under some form of federal control.
Denver’s 9News flagged the alarming scheme in a segment Wednesday night that also featured Peters’ attorney, Peter Ticktin, describing how Trump “is not going to relinquish control” should he lose both the House and Senate in November.
“He’s got nothing to lose, the nation has nothing to lose,” Tickin said. “It’s better if we’re going to have a civil war of any sort that it be martial law with our side in control of the armaments.”
Viewers responded on social media by accusing 9News anchor Kyle Clark of fear-mongering and somehow also being a CIA asset.
“You caught me,” he replied. “The CIA planted me at a local news station in Denver 20 years ago and made me do years worth of stories on snowstorms and rodeos so that I could drop this one report in 2026 quoting Tina Peters’ attorney talking about civil war.”
