Justice Department unlawfully fired Maurene Comey, daughter of former FBI director, judge rules

The judge wrote that the Trump administration’s defense of Comey’s firing “flies in the face of nearly two centuries of Supreme Court precedent.” Comey had argued in her federal lawsuit that she was terminated because of her father, James B. Comey, whom President Donald Trump fired as head of the FBI during his first term, and because of her perceived political beliefs.
