I think there are lots of people who have duel citizenship. My Canadian born husband and his parents became naturalized US citizens after living in the US for about 10 years, but I'm not sure if they lost their Canadian citizenship when they became US citizens. If so, I think they could request a duel citizenship which would likely be accepted by the Canadian government.
