Nicki Minaj Isn’t a MAGA Convert. She’s a Pardon Customer For Her Rapist Pedophile Family Members.
Her husband is a sex offender, her brother raped an 11-year-old, and only the governor of New York can help. Now she wants a couple of pardons.

Donald Trump stood on a stage in Port Huron, Michigan, last Sunday, interrupted his own story about a senator’s ass, told a packed arena that Nicki Minaj has “one hell of a beautiful ass,” ordered her to stand up so everyone could look, and then went back to his notes. She stood up. She laughed. An hour later, she took the microphone and promised to support him “forever and ever,” including a third term.
Three days after that, she logged onto X and called the governor of New York an “evil woman” who “will not escape God’s wrath.” If you think those two events are unrelated, I have a gold-plated souvenir card to sell you, and I’ll tell you it’s citizenship paperwork.
Here is what the rapper formerly known as a Democrat actually needs, and from whom.
The husband
Kenneth “Zoo” Petty is a registered sex offender. In September 1994, he dragged a 16-year-old girl named Jennifer Hough off a school bus stop in Jamaica, Queens and attempted to rape her at knifepoint. He was 16 too. He pleaded down to attempted rape in the first degree and did about four years. In 2006, he pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and did seven more. He got out in 2013, and by 2019 he was married to the biggest female rapper on the planet and living in a six-bedroom mansion in Calabasas with a pool.
Then he got pulled over in Beverly Hills, and the cops discovered he had never bothered to register as a sex offender in California. That’s a federal crime. He pleaded guilty in 2021. Prosecutors asked for 15 months in prison, noting with some irritation that home confinement in a Calabasas estate doesn’t really count as punishment. The judge gave him home confinement in the Calabasas estate anyway, plus three years of probation and a $55,000 fine, which is roughly what Nicki spends on a weekend.
While that case was live, Hough sued both of them in Brooklyn federal court. Her lawsuit laid out how it allegedly went: Minaj called her personally and offered to fly her family to Los Angeles if she’d recant. When Hough said no, the harassing phone calls and surprise visits started. Then one of Nicki’s people allegedly offered her $20,000 to sign a prepared retraction. Then someone allegedly offered her brother $500,000 for a letter saying the rape never happened. Hough moved from Atlanta to Florida after a man connected to Petty approached her daughter at an event. Nicki’s public position on all of this, posted to Instagram in 2018, was that her husband and the 16-year-old he was convicted of attacking had been “in a relationship.”
The brother
Jelani Maraj, Nicki’s older brother, was convicted in Nassau County in 2017 of repeatedly raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter in his Long Island home. The girl testified that he called her “his puppet” and told her he’d beat her if she refused him. His defence was that the child’s mother invented the whole thing to shake Nicki down for $25 million. The jury took two days to laugh that out of the room. In January 2020, he was sentenced to 25 years to life. At that sentencing, the judge was read a letter Nicki had written asking for mercy for him. His appeal was denied in 2024. There is no legal avenue left. There is only clemency.
The part nobody online understands
Trump cannot pardon the brother. Trump cannot pardon the husband’s rape conviction either. Those are New York state crimes, and the president’s pardon power stops at the state line. The only thing Trump can touch is Petty’s federal failure-to-register conviction, and that probation already expired in the summer of 2025. A pardon is a framed certificate. It doesn’t get him off the registry; it doesn’t erase the knife-point attempted rape; it doesn’t do a single thing that matters.
So who holds the keys to Jelani Maraj’s cell? The governor of New York. Nobody else on earth, which is why Minaj is on her low IQ heater this week. New York’s clemency rules say a prisoner is normally eligible for a commutation after serving half the minimum sentence, which for Maraj works out to around 2030. The rules also contain the phrase “except for extraordinary circumstances,” which is government language for “unless the governor feels like it.”
Kathy Hochul does not feel like it.
She has commuted fewer than 20 sentences in five years in office and sits on a backlog of more than a thousand applications. She is a cautious, poll-watching Democrat who would sooner set herself on fire than commute a child rapist’s sentence during a reelection campaign. She is, for Nicki Minaj’s purposes, useless. Worse than useless. An obstacle.
Bruce Blakeman, the Republican running against her, is campaigning on the line that Hochul is “the most pro-criminal governor in the United States.” He is also the guy who answered Nicki’s attack on Hochul by tweeting “Nicki, I’ve got the U-Haul ready.” A Trump-loyal Republican governor of New York, elected with help from the president’s favourite celebrity, who owes that celebrity a favour and whose boss has turned clemency into a loyalty rewards program. That is the only version of events where Jelani Maraj walks out before he’s 60.
Now go back and reread her post. “The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat.” “She did not denounce evil when she had the chance.” “HOW DARE YOU AS CHRISTIANS?!” “Vote BLAKEMAN!” She never says what the evil is. She doesn’t need to. She’s not talking to us.
The receipts on the flip
On September 12, 2018, ten months after her brother was convicted and while he was awaiting sentencing, Nicki Minaj tweeted: “VOTE Thur. Sept. 13 for Gov. Cuomo, Lt. Gov. Hochul & Tish James. They know how to work for the people to make NY even GREATER.” Cuomo thanked her within the hour. Same account. Same woman. Same brother in a cell. Eight years later, Hochul is a vile, wicked curse of a woman. The only thing that changed is which party controls the pardon pen in Washington and who might control the one in Albany.
The store she’s shopping in
None of this would be worth writing about if Trump’s clemency operation were a normal one. It isn’t. It’s a cash register. Trevor Milton and his wife gave more than $1.8 million to Trump’s reelection fund and got a full pardon two weeks before a judge could order him to repay the investors he defrauded. The Chrisleys got pardons that erased $22 million in restitution. George Santos got one after his campaign spent money at Trump’s hotel. Changpeng Zhao got one after Binance did a $2 billion deal using the Trump family’s own stablecoin, from a company that paid the president $799 million last year. Democrats in Congress have sent 17 letters asking recipients whether they bought their pardons. A bill called the No Payoffs for Pardons Act exists now. The New York Times reported this week that Trump’s former lawyer landed a $50 million deal from the family of a Venezuelan billionaire he pardoned. The man who runs the pardon office is a woman Trump freed after Kim Kardashian asked him to.
Celebrity walks into the Oval Office, celebrity says nice things on camera, celebrity’s problem goes away. The lane is paved and lit.
When the Wall Street Journal asked the obvious question in May, the denial came from Alex Bruesewitz, the Trump consultant who booked Nicki for her United Nations appearance and arranged the whole relationship in the first place. “No conversation about a pardon has taken place.” He also called the Wall Street Journal a “disgraceful, failing paper” and said TMZ is more legitimate. No one from the White House counsel’s office or the Pardon Attorney has said anything. The booking agent is the alibi.
The leash
One more thing, because it matters. Nicki Minaj is not an American citizen. By her own account, she came into the country illegally at age five from Trinidad and was later granted a green card. In 2024, she told a livestream, “I’m not a citizen of America. Isn’t that crazy?” In January, she posted a picture of a Trump Gold Card and wrote, “finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak.” The White House clarified the card was a “memento.” As of this week, she has still not confirmed she’s a citizen, which means she cannot vote in the New York election she’s screaming at Black Christians to decide.
So picture the arrangement. A permanent resident with a pending citizenship application, married to a two-time violent felon on the sex offender registry, with a brother doing life for raping a child, flying on Air Force One with a president who has deported green card holders for far less than an unflattering interview. He calls her his “number one fan.” He also tells an arena to look at her ass and then says he hopes she wasn’t insulted. She wasn’t. She can’t afford to be. Every ounce of leverage in that relationship runs one direction, and it isn’t hers.
Trump’s base spent a decade screaming about pedophiles under every bed, tracking down imaginary pizza-parlour basements and passing around Epstein theories. Their president has already pardoned child pornography possessors, buried the Epstein files until a Pulitzer-winning newspaper pried them loose, and now campaigns arm in arm with a woman whose husband and brother are both registered sex offenders and who was sued for allegedly trying to buy a rape victim’s silence. Nobody at the rally said a word. They cheered.
That’s the movement. It was never about protecting kids. It was about who gets protected, and the answer, as always, is whoever shows up with something to trade. Nicki Minaj showed up with 40 million followers and a microphone. She knows exactly what she’s buying. She’s buying into the MAGA pedophile/rape protection racket for her convicted rapist and pedophile husband and brother.
Makes sense now, huh?
