There IS a high crime rate in South Africa, and there have been farmers who have been murdered, both black and white, but while only 7.3% of the population of South Africa is white, 72% of the farmland in South Africa is owned by whites. But of course, dt is pushing the 'whites are victims' theme, even though whites (as a minority population) in South Africa still hold the vast majority of wealth as well as land. During that 'ambush' oval office meeting with the South African leader, billionaire Johan Rupert stood up to plead with Trump to 'save' South Africa saying that they need starlink satellite technology and drones at every little police station, etc... IOW, they need help, from Elon Musk. But for Trump, it was a perfect trifecta moment of playing to his own audience at home of white/Christian nationalists (who are obsessed with existential threats), distracting from prices going up at Walmart or the millions of people who will be kicked off of Medicaid, and of course... the art of the grift.
