She is always busy canning and knitting in her little paradise. I'm stuck in Bakersfield. Keeping busy with repairs on this place. Grumpy is not well. Every time I call him he puts his wife on the phone right away. I'm afraid she irritates me so much I haven't called for a while. Shame on me. Glad to hear that you're living the dream. My bowling partner, a plumber told me about a manager of an apartment he services, who was arrested and deported immediately by ICE. He was Iranian and an US citizen for twenty years. Agents told people at the apartments he was gone for good, and they'd never see him again. One happened at Walmart. Vested, armed men and women patroled the aisles all over the store. I had to leave by a back door as the regular doors were all guarded and closed. Three white ICE vehicles were parked in front; a van in which people were just put, a truck, and a sedan. They left one, two, three. I have been to protests here and Denver. Was too close to an intersection where tear gas was deployed to clear it, allegedly for traffic. " Valued Poster Newsom has been a good Governor for California, thought FOX has trashed him to the point that many Californians are opposed to him. The high speed rail is taking longer and more money than predicted, but there's nothing unusual about that. I like Tim Walz very much. I hope Kamala stays out of it. She is just too unlikable, imo. Yes, she promoted many progressive policies - sometimes - other times, not so much. I'd like to see AOC run for Senate. I spent my insurance money getting our lives in order here in Bakersfield, thinking Mother would get to spend time with family, but, she passed after two months. So, here I am, stuck and broke. " It is very pleasant you're back! If you look at red and blue election maps, you see the major cities, those targeted by the felon as safe havens for the enemy within, are blue. Red dominates as sparsely populated rural territory is red. There is the felon's misunderstanding about the cities, and urban vs. rural populations. Rather than all the rural areas colored red, the color should be little tiny dots for the sparse population of generally stupid republicans who live there. Farmers? Not much. Ranchers? Same. High levels of generally poor education and highly competative, small, gossipy churches. You can look away from a painting, but you can't listen away from a symphony
