To many observers, both in the US and abroad, Donald Trump has been behaving strangely recently. Especially online.
As a government shutdown loomed in the US last week, the president posted an AI video which depicted Hakeem Jeffries, the first Black House minority leader, wearing a sombrero and exaggerated moustache, with mariachi music playing in the background. Hispanic groups criticized Trump’s posts as “racist”, “dangerous” and “reprehensible”, but Trump doubled down, posting a new video which showed himself wearing a sombrero and playing the guitar behind a rendering of Jeffries.
It wasn’t the only situation where Trump’s behavior has seemed unusual. Last weekend Trump reposted to Truth Social an AI-generated fake video which promoted “med bed hospitals”. Trump has reposted AI content before, but the difference was that this video showed an AI version of himself speaking.
“Every American will soon receive their own med bed card,” the AI rendering of Trump, apparently seated in the Oval Office, said. “With it, you’ll have guaranteed access to our new hospitals led by the top doctors in the nation, equipped with the most advanced technology in the world.”
Setting aside the fact that the idea of “med beds” is a rightwing conspiracy theory – one version of the theory posits that the government and/or a group of wealthy Americans have access to medical bed-like devices that can cure almost every illness, but are withholding the technology – Trump’s post prompted a number of questions.
Like whether or not he's sane?

Especially considering the ongoing corruption, the emoluments, the grifting, the vile statements about Democrats being violent and vicious and sending thugs into the streets to try to ignite a violent reaction... He wants to be in on the fun, playing his "cards" along with Putin, Netanyahu and others who lie, cheat and just take, to glorify themselves. They don't care about the dead bodies or carnage left behind. They will just blame the 'liberals' and 'terrorists' and then rebuild some gold-gilded resorts or some such with taxpayer money to make more money. It's never enough for the oligarchs to be multi-billionaires already. They need to show it off. The "golden age" they are looking for will have no safe place for the poor, sick or elderly.
It's so disgustingly blatant and immoral, but what do they care? They can always blame someone else. And to think that they get away with all this with the blessing and votes of so-called 'Christians' and those who believe and have faith in their 'all-powerful' God.

are revolting to me. If they know anything about the faith they claim to live by, they have to know he is a fake, a liar, and a chaos agent. Chaos seems to be his aim. Anything to avoid the consequences of his crimes.

They clearly thought about any president in general.
But the issue was raised by and ahout THIS president.
The felon and his base are absolutely correct when they say "he" is exceptional. He clearly is an authoritarian dictator launched from the platform of the presidency. Together they caused the greatest and most seriious threat fo democracy in history of the country.

I mentioned before that I listen to a couple of YouTubers that challenge Trump supporters. They know nothing of EG Carroll, except that she's a liar. Nothing of his fraud convictions. Btw,I wonder why the IRS isn't after him for the same set of facts. They don't know what RvW was really about, and that it included limits. They don't believe it was an insurrection. They never heard any of the confession type interviews. They don't know he never repented. Shit, I could write a book about what they are intentionally ignorant of.
Anyway, the point is, if we can't get through to them, he will be more likely to be able to achieve his nefarious aims.
Newsom's approach is amusing and made a good point, but it's not going to win any swing voters, imo.
