I can say I enjoyed every show I ever watched with him. A notable roll I keep seeing mentioned online is The Great Santini. If you haven't seen it I recommend it. A Jack of all trades is master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one. ... And many thanks for the masters in skill for setting our standard of work to instill.

If I remember correctly it's Robert Duvall, Blythe Danner, Michael O'keefe and a couple other notable faces. It addresses the stress and dysfunction of being an army family as well as social issues. Duvall is a Lifelong Army guy and his family gets uprooted and moves to a new town, his son gets involved in some trouble with racist locals for standing up to the town bully. Dad wants son to stay out of it tries to run his family like an army unit but he defies dad to stand up for what is right. I hope that helps.
