It appeared Tiger Woods would smash Jack Nicklaus' golf records, and especially the number of majors wins. But then the fallout with the cheating, Lindsey Vonn, and his reckless accident and injuries... Nicklaus' records are safe.
Likewise with Jesse Jackson. Once he "fell," that was it. He sank into relative obscurity, and his death is the last little gasp.
