They asked about the teams to decide who to cheer for. Gigi said Canada and the United States. Both wee lasses chose to cheer for Canada. LOL Later on when asked why, they both said they wouldn't cheer for trump's team. Gigi was understandably confused, so Evs piped up "The United States of America"? You know, trump is president of the United States Of America... See? It's his team. Needless to say, she told them that they also live in the U.S. and that who the president is has nothing to do with owning any team. That ALL Americans "own" our Olympic team and that they could cheer for either team regardless of who is POTUS. I guess maybe they listen to us grownups grouse about trump a bit too often. Still, as young as they are, it's never too early to learn about civics and eventually being responsible, informed voters, etc. Just not SO intensely going forward. In any case, they liked the game and want to see more... probably with their Gigi & Papa or with Auntie K because Mom & Dad and Grammy & Grampy don't watch sports, especially hockey.

Our goalie did a great job... but our Canadian friends told us (much to their chagrin) that Hellebuyck used to be THEIR goalie for the Winnipeg Jets. That's gotta hurt! I hope they decline any WH invitation. If they go, Trump will probably try to steal their gold, and their glory.

I kept seeing save after save..the Canadians were outplaying us, really. A couple of lucky moments, but mostly just skill and determination. Easily the MVP of the Final, at least.. SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!

What a match to watch! But in all of team sports, hockey goalkeepers might have the greatest ability of any individual player to determine the outcome. And the US penalty killing was great all tournament (zero power play goals conceded). What a great Olympics in general this was! Tryna decide what was the most clutch performance. Obviously Hellebuyck's brilliant gold medal game...but also "RikuRyu" in the figure skating Pairs. Fifth after the short program and probably hoping to have some shot at a medal. Then they throw down the highest scoring free skate in Pairs history. And there are others.

An significant win for sure. And I love MN representing.
