This is a brave new world doncha know. Things are changing. The old order is out. The new order is being ushered in. To be sure, nothing about the new order is appealing. And it's the height of lunacy that we'd throw out an old order that did so much for so many. Despite the fact that we never achieved all the high-minded principles outlined in the Constitution, we all knew that it was a work in progress. "...in order to form a more perfect union..." That's a perpetual endeavor. And it's a far better pursuit than the Project 2025 that they are rapidly putting in place.

Funny how that works. Kinda like some who want small government until they are the ones who are faced with a disaster or need help. So now we should just abandon freedom, democracy and individual rights and liberty altogether in deference to those who claim to know what “God” wants. One nation, under the orange God, with no liberty or justice for anyone…

More specifically, they are worried about losing their 'white' majority and thus their power and privilege. I don't know if you watched the entire video, but it is very illuminating in that regard. Apparently they want to deport as many as 100 million people to 'purify' the population in the US. They might also bring back slavery, as that pastor invited by Hegseth to speak at the prayer service at the Pentagon was known for his position on denying women the right to vote and had even said that slavery actually nurtured "affection" between masters and slaves. And now we have a President who appears to be on the side of these 'white Christian nationalists', saying to "forget about" the wall of separation between church and state. This is who we have in our government right now. I think probably a lot of people don't even realize that.

They didn't use it to establish a governing body. The language used in the declaration was specifically vague about it. In simplest terms, they were business men who didn't want to give up profiteering. Christianity had nothing to do with it. Don’t their scriptures say that men are supposed to be the leaders… that women are supposed to submit and be quiet? It seems obvious that they are creating the side show while their husbands do the profiting in the background. It’s a hierarchal system that they want to enjoy their profits from, and I suspect you’re right. Christianity has nothing to do with it.
