I think my favorite kiddy song was the slightly less gory ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic.’ Some oddly minor-key but appealing music (despite the warning ‘not to go out in the woods today’). Maybe it affected my taste in music! SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!

Back then, I knew zero French so had no clue that it was about peeling feathers of the body parts of a poor little lark. The song is so bouncy and happy sounding that who'd ever guess it was actually so dark? And who would write such lyrics to such bouncy music? LOL Only the French. (Giggle) I rather doubt many French Mamans would sing Allouette to their children. Your song made me laugh. I can envision your Mama singing that because it is a happy Teddy bear song.

They are where I live, but ours are alive and considering leaving their dens soon Posted by Sia on February 26, 2026, 2:53 pm, in reply to "Innocently, it is" ADMIN I'm so dreading their first 2 weeks out when they do it. They'll be skinny and all the females will have cubs so the feeding frenzy won't be pretty!
