DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The U.S. and Israel launched a major attack on Iran on Saturday, with President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian public to “seize control of your destiny” and rise up against the Islamic leadership that has ruled the nation since 1979.
Some of the first strikes appeared to hit areas around the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Iranian media reported strikes nationwide. Smoke could be seen rising from the capital. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the 86-year-old leader was in his offices at the time of the strike.“When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations,” Trump said in a video announcing “major combat operations” were underway. “For many years, you have asked for America’s help, but you never got it.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu echoed that sweeping goal. “Our joint operation will create the conditions for the brave Iranian people to take their fate into their own hands,” Netanyahu said.
Two smug, mealymouthed liars.. Guess who’ll be stuck with the fallout (hopefully not literal) of this newest Middle Eastern War? And paying for most of it?
You guessed it.. SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
There is just no let-up with this vile administration
I have to say they are really good at staying two steps ahead of everyone. But in this case there was the military build-up. Assets were put in place. It took about a week.
I'm an avid, if not obsessed, reader of current events. I don't remember hearing much from anyone in the run-up to yesterdays attacks. Now there is substantial outrage about how Congress wasn't notified and that his was illegal. Kind of like closing the gate after the cows left.
It will be very interesting to see how this will play out. The Iranian people do, in fact, have an opportunity. But even with the theocratic government de-headed the overall structure remains in place.
My feeling is that this will bring Iranians togethwr behind a new, probably not any better ruler and that we could see lots more terrorism in the years to come.
I hope I’m wrong, but assassination is rarely a good answer. Does this woman look ready to lead a revolt?

I want this POS out of Congress:
“President Trump has been willing to do what’s right and necessary to produce real peace in the region,” tweeted John Fetterman, a Democratic senator for Pennsylvania and staunch supporter of Israel, declaring himself a “hard no” on a war powers vote and posting an image of the ayatollah with the provocative statement: “Let’s see who grieves for that garbage.” ‘
Let’s see who will grieve for your political career, Johnny Boy.. SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
He has long been a crazy wild card

They never know how he'll vote or what whacked-out nonsense he'll spew. So no surprise here.
The goof won't even wear proper dress in the Senate. He shows up in scruffy, holey jeans; grungy, ill-fitting sweats; sockless sneaks; and even beach sandals. In Congress! durng formal Senate votes. He's been censured for his improper dress but he just refuses to cooperate.
If he wants to dress that way, get a different job.
Normally, I'm all for casual dress in the workplace, but there are professions where you are expected to be dressed professionally. Would you hire an attorney who thinks wearing a bathing suit or pajamas in court is appropriate?
Anything to divert attention from the Epstein Files.
Can't always point fingers and blame at trump. MAGA is just as responsible. They elected him.You can look away from a painting, but you can't listen away from a symphony
We’ve already had bases hit by Iranian missiles, so that’s a ‘go’ according to Trump’s warped planners:
Senior advisers to President Donald Trump would prefer Israel strike Iran before the United States launches an assault on the country, according to two people familiar with ongoing discussions.
These Trump administration officials are privately arguing that an Israeli attack would trigger Iran to retaliate, helping muster support from American voters for a U.S. strike.
he calculus is a political one — that more Americans would stomach a war with Iran if the United States or an ally were attacked first. Recent polling shows that Americans, and Republicans in particular, support regime change in Iran, but are unwilling to risk any U.S. casualties to achieve it. That means Trump’s team is considering the optics of how an attack is conducted in addition to other justifications — such as Iran’s nuclear program.
“There’s thinking in and around the administration that the politics are a lot better if the Israelis go first and alone and the Iranians retaliate against us, and give us more reason to take action,” said one of the people familiar with discussions. Both individuals were granted anonymity to describe private conversations. (Politico) SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
Iran’s parents had just dropped their children off for class on Saturday morning when they found themselves racing back to school gates, as bombs began to fall across the country in a joint US-Israel attack.
At one elementary school, according to Iran’s state-controlled media, they arrived to find devastation. At least 80 children had been killed in the strike on Shajareh Tayyebeh all girls’ school in Minab, southern Iran, the IRNA news agency reported, with dozens more unaccounted for.In one video circulating on social media, purportedly showing the immediate aftermath of the strike, smoke rises from the burned-out walls, and debris lies spread across the road. Hundreds of onlookers gathered at the site, some in obvious distress. Screams can be heard in the background. The report of the bombing, its death toll, and the video’s source could not immediately be independently verified by the Guardian. Persian factchecking service Factnameh was able to cross reference the video with other photographs of the school site, and concluded that the video was authentic. Reuters said it had also verified the footage as being from the school.
The school appears to be adjacent to a Revolutionary Guards barracks. If the death toll is confirmed, the school bombing would be the largest mass casualty event of the US-led attack so far.
