So I finally got through to the right place to call for a wellness check on Christopher

Where he lives is so remote that it doesn't have a dedicated police phone number to call for a wellness check. I tried every number I could find and only today learned that I had to call the county sheriff's dispatch office to be put through to the local police authority.
My lord, it was a series of phone calls to dead ends but I got through to the wrong dispatch on Wednesday only to be told to call back on Friday (today) when it had been a week of no contact when theyd give me the right number to call. (Apparently they all use private cell phones.) I never should have mentioned that he often leaves for a few days to travel to a VA hospital for treatment because that's why I had to wait a week to ask for wellness check.
Well anyway, to get to the point, I called again today, a few minutes ago, and they are sending an officer to his home to check on him. Not sure when I'll hear back, but it should be sometime today. As soon as I do, I'll post again with whatever they tell me.
If he's not there, then I'll have to assume that he went to the VA and was hospitalized or something similar so can't connect with us until he's home and has his computer available. He doesn't have a cell phone.
OMG, they just called me back as I was posting and he is in the local hospital there and he's okay. I called the number but he didn't pick up so I'll try again later.
I’m glad he’s (relatively) OK, and that you did this good deed.
We all know you to be a caring person, one who goes WELL beyond the call of duty to watch over your people. You do it despite your own serious health problems; this makes it all the more admirable.
Bless you! SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
Thank you. (blushing)

Yes, I DO care about "my" people. I consider all of you to be friends and you each matter to me very much.
This isnt my first rodeo. I connected with Christopher personally when Pikes and I were trying to find out what might have happened to one of our regulars. I don't recall his exact posting name, but I think it was "Old Charlie Martin". I've forgotten because I transferred him to his real name in my mind well beforehand and have since lost certainty in the fake one.
He was a regular on Yellow and switched over to Blue at our invitation after being trashed there for admitting he was gay. We certainly didn't care and both Pikes and I talked with him at length via email so got to know each other very well so we knew lots of information, but obviously not enough to know who to call to ask about him after he stopped responding.
He had been actively posting in a conversation with us and suddenly dropped off, then didn't return even after a few days...
Anyway, when we hit a dead end trying to find his sister's number or the sheriff's number to call. I asked Christopher for any help he might know since he also lived in a remote area in the southwest. I figured he might have a clue how to find out if he was okay. Martin had recently moved after the death of his partner and I knew generally where, but not positively which apartment # he'd taken or the name of the building. I also knew his real name and that he was okay with sharing it amongst his friends, of which CB was.
We had tried for a couple of days when Christopher got a hit. He found the right police department and they found Old Charlie dead in his chair holding his phone that he used to post.
Later on, his sister contacted Christopher and offered her thanks to us for our friendship and for tracking him down so he wasnt dead there for weeks before anyone checked why he hadn't paid his rent.
