Lots of storms moving through Kansas and Missouri last night with high winds, rain, hail and some tornadoes spotted not far from us. I hate when it happens at night because it's hard to see the funnel clouds in the dark, but they do have storm chasers out there looking for them. We were watching the weather people on TV when the lights started flickering and we lost reception, and the wind and rain hit hard, but it moved through so fast that we only got a half inch of rain from it. The conditions are ripe for more to come tonight.
Seems weird, but I'm wondering if we will even get a frost in April this year. We usually wait until after Mother's Day to plant our tomatoes.
Scary stuff to me! We wait until after Memorial Day. Funny, I thought you were

Out here climate is so off, I have no clue what to expect. Plants and trees are leaving out 1-1/2 months early. This weekend we're supposed to have a hard freeze with nights in the mid 20s.
Our spring storms have been nothing but verga- rain that evaporates before it hits the ground.
We see them build behind Pikes Peak, Then they do this:
They don't have enough energy to rain. These move out onto the plains and rebuild, but I honestly don't know what they're building from to generated tornadoes and hail in Kansas and Missouri.
Back in March when we had the daily extremes of hot one day, strong wind and cold the next, it generated big storms in Illinois Indiana and Ohio.
