The suspected gunman in the shooting at the White House correspondents’ dinner that has roiled Washington has been identified as Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old man from southern California.
Allen, of Torrance, a suburb of Los Angeles, has no record of criminal charges or a civil court history in Los Angeles county, according to a records search.US officials have not yet publicly confirmed the suspect’s identity. A LinkedIn profile with the name “Cole Allen” showed a picture of a man which appeared to match the photo shared by Donald Trump.
On the social media profile, Allen said he was an engineer with a passion for game development, based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
“Mechanical engineer and computer scientist by degree, independent game developer by experience, teacher by birth,” according to his profile, which noted that he had an undergraduate degree from the California Institute of Technology.
Video posted to the Truth Social platform by the president on Saturday evening showed surveillance footage of a man sprinting through a Secret Service checkpoint near the main magnetometer metal detector screening area just outside the main ballroom of the Washington Hilton, the venue for the event. Agents can be seen drawing weapons and opening fire as he runs past. Trump also posted a picture of a shirtless man then lying on the floor as if apprehended.
Why did they allow Trump to attend? Between real attempts on his life, staged attempts and just obnoxious assaults on the Press, he should’ve been kept away. This only plays into the MAGA agenda pre-election. SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
But because everything emanating from the White House is a lie, gaslighting, disinformation, and generally untruthful one can readily see why no one believes otherwise.
Trump, being the opportunist that he is, was able to take advantage of this event to put pressure on getting his ball room approved.
So many people could have been killed or injured. But his focus, once again, was on himself.
Can't wait for the day when we emerge from this nightmare.
It wasn’t fake, it clearly happened, but WHAT exactly happened?
..which the Right and Trump have magnified into ‘assassination’ for political reasons. You see their manipulation in the attacks on the individual (‘He’s black and from California!) and on Trump (‘the President was rescued by the secret Service!’) . No one seems to be taking the possibility of fakery into account.
But certainly the Right will be pushing the agendas of anti-Left, anti-Dem, pro-security and victimization into account.
And then there’s that goddam ballroom.. SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
Why was security was so lax at an event with FIVE top people in the administration and when a war is going on.
Let's look at logistics
There have been not one, but two purported attempts. That, alone, should call for very tight and heightened security.
- only cursory looks at tickets
- Tickets to the dinner only had table numbers written on them and not the actual names of guests. Identification was not checked at any point for those entering the hotel
- Guests making their way to the dinner went down escalators from the main lobbies, before going through a security checkpoint
- Why was vance removed before trump.
- Why did a person who considers the press an enemy, and who has never attended this event before do so now? It doesn't scan.
- conveniently happens when approval ratings are at an all time low and trump wants his golden goose
