By each of us taking on a handful of them, we can lead them to better conclusions on their own. If a million of us take on a handful of them, we reach millions of people.
Can't do this overnight. Allow time for the good disease to spread.
I took on the task to learn every hymn in the Methodist hymnal, the Baptist hymnal, and three independent evangelical hymnals. Many of these are duplicated, so the whole number should not exceed 800 hymns. Maybe <700.
My goal is to be able to play them in any key, any style.
I specifically looked for and marks hymns that address MAGA. In service the way to make this work is to surround them with comfortable familiarity.
So this Hymn 264
would be in a set along with The Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace. The fragile egg in between two nuts.
You can see how those lyrics directly confront MAGA beliefs that edify trump.
I was amazed to see the new Methodist hymnal contains many Canticles from the Catholic Church, as well as Catholic hymns in Spanish.
Some are really poorly written like this
Words were altered to fit a tune which ain't anything to write home about. It's best scrapped and rewritten with music that actually fits the text. This thing is like dancing a waltz with three feet.
I saw CBS axed The Late Show. I played for Letterman and Schaffer in NYC at CBS. That's the Ed Sullivan Theatre.
The CBS legacy of Cronkite, 60 Minutes, Wallace and Pelley is over thanks to felon and his sycophant billionaire son Ellison. In this day and age with all the competition, there ain't no coming back.
Last night the wimmin let the dog out in the backyard and forgot him. Now they're been feeding the wildlife, which I tried unsuccessfully to discourage. At night the back yard is a zoo of racoons, skunks and who knows what else. Well the dog got skunked.
The household wimmin was in a rage, screaming, cussing, throwing things. Their adhd kicked in big time. The dog was a scared mess. Finally managed to get him washed from a bucket solution of Dawn, hydrogen peroxide, tomato juice and warm water. Kicked 80% of the skunk smell, and I let him sleep with me so the house wasn't skunked. Now I have to wash my bedding and self a few times as we're 20% skunky.
Lesson? Don't let dog out at night unsupervised into the backyard zoo.You can look away from a painting, but you can't listen away from a symphony
I just realized that you must have gotten a new dog after losing Savannah and the other one (sorry..
It is finally paying off having gently and methodically exposed the now former trumpsters to his regular BS with actual videos of his own words, presented in context, without my comments to allow them to soak in it rather than fight back defending him because I didnt actually attack him. I simply let his own words convict him without piling on. Then patiently waiting for an opportunity to hammer it home after the sh!t hit the proverbial fans within their own experience and observations.
Some via gas and food prices demolishing their budgets... that he swore he'd fix.
Some via lost health insurance a/o excessively high premiums due to major cutbacks for Obama-care subsidies they relied on that trump et al destroyed, along with major cuts to Medicaid so they (sadly) have nowhere to turn to.
Some via higher taxes on their income a/o property due to massive CUTS for school assistance, education & science grants, colleges, business & school loans, roads, and other necessary federal funds always counted on to run local & state government, social safety net agencies, police and fire departments, and so on that funds for are now dried up and have to come from somewhere else, namely through higher or new TAXES else they cease to exist. Blue states especially where large volumes of trumpsters also reside. They may enjoy "owning or punishing the libs", but those cuts punishe THEM too. Often hurting them more than the liberals they so gleefully oppose - who actually got the funding and legislation passed for safety net assistance to begin with.
Some via employment difficulties due to job losses or factory closings because of his arbitrary and outrageous tariffs and/or unethical exploitation of businesses... all in favor of enriching himself and his cronies.
Some to rabid cultural war themes (anti-abortion laws, safety net cutbacks like food stamps, fuel assistance, rent control, vicious immigration policies, etc) that hurt them a/o their loved ones, co-workers, neighbors, and their even their jobs ...
The ridiculous war of choice with Iran that has caused their loved ones, friends, neighbors, a/o co-workers to have their lives disrupted and threatened.
The idiotic choices he's made in appointing incompetent AHs to positions of power they are woefully unqualified for that have instituted terrible policies affecting them, loved ones, friends, neighbors, etc.
and so much more...
All without ever uttering "I told you so" (something I abhor anyone saying to someone in a pickle regardless of blame for not listening). Instead, sympathizing with them and pointing out whose fault it actually is for such changes happening in cuts in government benefits, tariffs, higher costs, and government interference in personal decisions.
Now they are actively angry and are spreading the word, multiplying those who've turned on trump.
It's kind of amazing just HOW BAD the GOP (and trump, in particular), have been to communities and citizens across the country. It is as if "these dementors are sucking our 'souls' out through our eyeballs with straws made of our own innards"**.
**quote: Nabudike Bergstein of 'Grace & Frankie'.. Modified slightly from 'my' to 'our'.
Those things are probably happening all over the country...
and no doubt make it especially hard for young families and those with medical problems. And to think that the people in the current administration/party in control pretend to care about 'family values.'
They just keep selling the hate and culture wars, and acting like they are only going after the Democrats (that they want to blame everything on). Not so. If you are not rich, you are just a peon to them.
They have a chance only if people don't pay attention
I saw interviewed California voters say they wanted change. Change from what to what? If all they want is something different, that's the kind of morosity that brought us the felon. You can look away from a painting, but you can't listen away from a symphony
Only the first time when he was an unknown element politically to most.
Letterman is very tall. Schaffer the opposite. Got a CBS credential. I know I'll never use it now. You can look away from a painting, but you can't listen away from a symphony
Our border collie dug a great big hole in the backyard doggie fenced area a few days ago, and then came in the house (through the doggie door downstairs) with muddy feet! She never does that!! Maybe she was going after a mole? Usually she comes to the front door after she has been out roaming the neighborhood, and if she has wet, muddy or dirty feet, she will wait patiently on the front porch for us to come out with a towel/rag to wipe her down before she comes in. She is usually very polite that way!
Was bil's dog. He suffered a stroke and was evicted, so he could not keep the dog, after which he didn't clean up. He NEVER cleaned up after his dogs, and didn't bother to housebreak them either. He has dementia now. But he's always been MAGA, pro Limbaugh... you know the species.

Well that sucks! Haven’t they figured out that it is a bad idea to feed wildlife right outside your
When I was a wee lass, we had a dog and a huge front porch where skunk ghettos were built to raise their young every spring. We couldn't get rid of the varmints no matter what we did.
Our dog, Jody, used to routibely try to eradicate them on her own and always got drenched in skunk juice several times every spring. She just never learned to leave them be.
So I get it how miserable that must have been for you dealing with your pup's stink and how annoying it is that they continue to feed the critters out the back door!
We never fed ours back then. They just loved the safety and cool temps under that big roomy porch.
So sweet!

Sometimes mongrels and rescue dogs are the best pets!
Dontcha just hate that! My long passed little Charlie used to dig mud holes, roll in them, and
then rush me at the door to jump on a couch when he was tired of rolling in the mud. Gawd he was SO messy and absolutely adored water, rain, snow, and especially swimming holes or pools! (But I still loved him more than any dog I've ever had in spite of that!)
My little Kali HATED water, mud, and snow so never did that. In fact, she wouldn't even go outside to pee if it was raining and would hold it until ready to burst, then would only go on the covered front porch to avoid as much of the water as possible. Ewww cleaning it up. Thankfully, she was too polite to do her business in the house, at least until she was very old and couldn't help it.
My Jake, Jody, and Elly were all normal dogs who neither loved nor hated the rain. I prefer the "normal" ones over fretting over the weather. **chuckle**
Lady hates gunshots, lightning storms, and fireworks....
but our two cavaliers have no fear of anything. We let Lady go off leash because at least she has enough fear to stay out of trouble. We had a bald eagle in the yard a few days ago, and we could get coyotes, etc. Usually see deer every day.
We fixed up a doggie door in the basement slider door that goes to the back yard fenced area for the dogs. That works out great. We still take them for walks, though, too.
Sounds like good planning with that doggie door...
Damn few dogs arent frughtened of thunder storms, fireworks, and gun shots. You have to actively train them to get them used to gun shots, and even then, some dogs just can't tolerate them without undue fear.
