It's brutal outside! 78 is tolerable, especially with temps up to 100° outside Posted by Sia on July 2, 2026, 7:22 pm, in reply to "Mamdani asks New Yorkers to ease up on the AC" ADMIN There is an extreme power drag when millions of ACs are down to 60° or 65° unnecessarily. Ideally, no one would go below 70° and consider 72°. 78° is certainly not ideal, but it IS tolerable and would prevent having to do brown-outs.
