Indeed! Growing up, I couldn't wait to be 35 because my Mum
told me that it was a magical age where you were grown up, likely settled into or well on your way to the life you'd chosen, and therefore an awesome age to be.
As always, for me, she was entirely correct! ** I was happily married, comfortable in my skin, happy with my then career, content in my surroundings and circumstances, and still reasonably healthy, (even considering my serious health challenges even back then)
** Of course, her words and my expectations likely ensured that I'd make certain that I was there or on the pathway to my hoped for life. Plus, I've always been "the ultimate optimist" and mostly content with making peace with the life challenges thrown at me from the beginning.
She also warned that IF I wasnt where I wanted to be a/o unhappy that it would be time to make big changes to find my way out of that. IOW, to take responsibility for my own choices and figuring out how to make things better.
My Mum considered the mid decade birthday to be wonderful and the decade birthdays to signal new beginnings. So she never fretted about age! She was lovely at all ages and glowing on her new decade birthdays regardless of her increasing health challenges as she reached old age (which she considered well past 70! LOL)
As I often do, I inadvertently went off with my rogue & wandering attention span instead of addressing what I was reacting to that you'd written.
