POUTY put every single letter directly in place on a single word, 3 of them green and the yellow one obviously placed. NEVER expected.

That's what I was so surprised by.

RAISE tanked but then, suddenly there was no doubt about the answer being PUTTY afterwards.

First word crapped out, second word (in your case) filled in many blanks, you had a good chance at a guess.

In my case it merely took an extra word. The possibility of 'UTY' made me see 'PUTTY' as a possible.

Okay, I getcha now. I was focusing on one aspect and you on another...

NOW it makes perfect sense to me what you'd meant.

I was just blown away in the moment that it happened when it flew from zero to 99% in a split second. Thus, my bewilderment wondering how they were alike.
