Soon after Kennedy’s rise to office, his well-intentioned supporters realized that he, too, would bow to corporations as the fight against pesticides actually resulted in … well, the U.S. government using more pesticides.
And this fight for an America that moves more through the infrastructure built by a government that cares is also, as we can see, a pipe dream as well.
Defending their decision to axe the lanes, a USDOT spokesperson told Daily Kos that, actually, putting the bike lanes in place was a negative move. “Eliminating traffic lanes can increase congestion, decrease safety, and negatively impact communities,” they said in a statement.
“Since nearly 80% of the population uses cars to get to work and their important medical appointments, we are taking a closer look at federal guidance to ensure American families have the infrastructure they need.”
The spokesperson called this a “common-sense approach despite the Left’s belief that everyone should ride a bike to their shoebox-sized apartment to eat crickets to achieve a phony climate agenda.”
In other words, on one end of the Trump administration, Kennedy is touting a roadmap to his MAHA vision while Duffy is stomping all over it.
Bike riders are not only DEI or leftists. According to the article, 20% of their citizens use something other than cars to commute.
So bike lanes seem quite reasonable. Do they prefer that bicycles "share the road" and potentially there's MORE gridlock due to significant increases in bicycle/car accidents??
