So I finally got my first Shingles vaccine Monday...

Given how truly awful I still feel 2 days later, I'm really dreading the second one 2 months from now!

Has anyone here gotten them both? Is it true that the second is twice as miserable as the first one?

In a moment of weakness, I made the appointment and actually showed up. I'd delayed getting it for such a long time because of the anticipated day long misery involved. Little did I know it would be so much more for me with a compromised immune system.

Ugh!

I had two shots...

several years ago. Don't remember any real problems with either shot.

Sorry about the pain, but hopefully it will save you from a lot worse pain later.

I got both a couple of years ago with no ill effects other than my arm was a bit sore for a day. I gather from a friend that you definitely don't want shingles, so you're still going to be better off having the shots.

and it hurts like hell moving or touching it. All of my muscles are screaming in pain. Ive taken so much Advil, Tylenol, and Tramadol together that my ears are ringing.

Still, you're right that it is still better than getting shingles, so I'll get the second shot, but am totally not looking forward to it being worse than this!

Oh, man. That is rough.

Here's hoping round two is not as bad.

No more letting the DNC choose our candidates for public office.
They're not good at it.

I had it a few years ago (as a full-fledged chicken pox sufferer) and it wasn't that bad, either one. Not pleasant, but not bad

But I've always been tolerant of vaccines..

SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR!
RESIST!

I am usually very tolerant of vaccines having minimal side effects normally

I know. My sister was hospitalized with horrific shingles that her doctor said he'd never seen

SO bad. He told her that when she described it to his nurse when calling for an appointment, he doubted her. Until he saw it. Every square inch of her torso was inflamed and covered in sores and scabs. She wound up in hospital for over a week!

If not for knowing that, I might have skipped it for several more years but no way was I gonna risk that!
