From Wiki: Anders Leonard Zorn (18 February 1860 – 22 August 1920) was a Swedish artist who attained international success as a painter, sculptor, and etching artist.[1][2] His portrait subjects include King Oscar II of Sweden and three American Presidents: Grover Cleveland, William H. Taft, and Theodore Roosevelt. At the end of his life in 1920, he established the Swedish literary Bellman Prize.

Some paintings of his, check out how he captured light, atmosphere, water, and realism. These are only a few examples. He painted more nudes than I've seen by other artists. You might like those too. I found them readily, but couldn't copy the links so you'll have to do your own search if interested.

It is uncanny how well he captured a scene to where some look like photographs!

Zorn was recognized before he passed. I don't believe among today's oligarchy anyone can do that. The people Zorn painted and worked for weren't selfish criminals.

I always wanted to teach a class about history through the eyes and ears of artists and composers. History books are too filled with politicians and their wars. What did the common man really think? His thoughts are found in the works of the artists and composers of the time.

I am one who will be discovered posthumously. When America is humbled and people look inward, somebody will "discover" The Fourteeners and all that music and imagery about the reality of our mountains and the people who lived and live here. Like my love story.

Kind of a heartbreaking story in a heartbreaking life.
So many artists pay and paid this price just to express a glimpse of the world.

You can look away from a painting, but you can't listen away from a symphony

Lovely scenery and music. I didnt follow the "heartbreaking love story" part though
