In CNN's defense I'll say; the situation could have been worse for the White House. Fortunately, this didn't happen at a network that still has an audience.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt demanded that CNN retract its claim that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) weren’t briefed on President Donald Trump’s Iran strikes. She insisted that congressional leaders were informed in advance, despite their post-strike condemnation over lack of authorization. Leavitt called the CNN report “fake news," stating the White House made bipartisan courtesy calls."

✅ CNN’s Correction
Following the pushback, CNN updated its article with this correction:
“This story has been updated to make clear Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was called before the strike, not after as initially reported.”

A source clarified that Schumer was contacted around 6:00 p.m., less than an hour before the strike. Note: Since congress is notoriously leaky, 1 hour before was a gracious (and even risky) plenty.
