Cats generally gravitate to those that dislike cats...have seen it often.

It isn't that I actively dislike them...I have had cats off and on through life...it is just that I no longer wish to have one.

I was sitting on my porch with the light on reading, minding my own business, and because I don't hear and was involved in my book, I did not realize there was a cat sitting on the walk staring at me. Then it climbed into my lap and stared at me. Thinking it was probably thirsty - it is still in the 80's at nearly midnight - I went and got it some water. See...I'm not heartless. It can have a drink of water but it cannot stay here - so it will get no food from here.
