...He worked for the Social Security Administration. When a low budget movie was made locally he got a bit part. From there he went to doing commercials and then movies. He was on the TV show Dallas multiple times. He had parts in Tender Mercies, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Movie and the documentary movie on Delta Flight 191. He also did numerous TV commercials including being that booming voice that asked "Friends, how long has it been since you had a steaming hot bowl of Wolf Brand Chili?" Anyway, the driver to his success - and he did make a lot of money - was a very deep booming voice. Another factor in his success was not listening to his old bowling teammate and future accountant who thought he was crazy to quit his social security job.
