ALL the prominent U.S. cities identified by the U.S. Census Bureau and economic studies as having the highest poverty rates - political control is largely held by Democrats. (Not that it matters - we no longer have a TWO party system)

Detroit, Cleveland, Newark, Memphis, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and St Louis ALL have Democrats running the show.
