LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) voted to issue an order that would lower bills for Southwest Gas customers across the state.
The vote took place on Monday, which would result in a reduction to the rates that Southwest Gas charges to recover the costs of purchasing natural gas for its customers.
The new rates would go into effect on July 1, and would lower the average Southwest Gas customer’s montly gas bill by over $13 per month in Southern Nevada (based on an average of 37 therms usage per month) and $22 per month in Northern Nevada (based on an average of 57 therms usage per month).
The decrease approved Monday is due to changing market conditions, according to PUCN.
Soutwest Gas sends me an email every month that I use more gas than neighboring homes. My response is always the same.... I cook and never order out so STFU.
